The IAS Board established ad-hoc committees for the efficient management of the various affairs of the Association. These committees are:
The Muslim Communications and Outreach Committee (MCOC)
The MCOC membership consists of a chair and a few non-board members of the IAS, with one IAS board member as an ex-officio of the MCOC. The MCOC is the external affairs wing of the IAS that deals with the public, the media, governmental and non-governmental organizations, as well as the national Muslim organizations. The Takaful Fund Committee (TFC)
The TFC handles and distribute the money on needy families and individuals. The TFC consists of a chair and three other members of the IAS. None of the four individuals is a Board member during his/her term as a member or chair of the TFC. One of the IAS Board members joins the TFC meetings as an ex-officio. The Strategic Planning Committee (SPC)
The SPC is formed to act as a body that provides advices and recommendations to the Muslim community of Saskatoon, and in particular to the IAS and the SMS Boards, with regard to long term planning. The IAS and the SMS Boards may transfer issues of long term planning, such as the future location(s) of the Islamic Center(s), the full-time school, the size, the timing, and the funding. Both boards may choose to transfer to the SPC any other issues related to wider community interest. The SPC consists of a chair, a secretary, and ten other members of the community, as well as representatives of both Boards. If you have any questions or concerns, please email the SPC at:

The Constitution Review Committee (CRC)
The IAS Board formed the CRC to revisit the IAS constitution and by-laws that were amended and approved in August, 2001. The CRC shall review the constitution thoroughly, solicit inputs from various members of the IAS, and suggest amendments (if necessary) to the IAS Board. The IAS Board shall discuss and approve the constitution amendments suggested by the CRC. The SRC consists of a chair and five other members of the community.
