Weekend School

Education by the Islamic Association of Saskatchewan (Saskatoon)

Islamic Arabic Weekend School

In an effort to offer Islamic education to the Muslim children of the community, the Islamic Association of Saskatchewan (Saskatoon) runs a weekend school operating every Sunday from October to June of every year. The school teaches Quranic, Arabic and other Islamic studies. There are 105 students between the age of 5 - 18 yrs registered for the year 2011-2012. There are five classes running from 10:00 am till 12:30 pm every Sunday for the following levels: Kg, Level 1, Level 2, Level 3, and Level 4. The school staff includes 10 teachers, 4 teaching assistants, and 2 administrative assistants. For more information contact:

Important dates:

- October 9, 2011: First day of weekend school

- January 15, 2012: Midterm exams

- February 19, 2012: School closed

- April 8, 2012: School closed

- May 6, 2012: Final exams

- May 13, 2012: Field trip

- June 3, 2012: Year end celebration
